“I am honored
to be calling the Classic for 850 theBuzz,” said Ware who
also serves as the voice of the Shaw Bear Sports Radio Network.
“TheBuzz is one of the top sports stations in the country
and the Aggie-Eagle Classic is one of the top football classics
in the country so for me it’s the best of both worlds.”
The Aggie-Eagle Classic
pits North Carolina A&T against North Carolina Central annually
during the Labor Day weekend and will be played on Monday September
5 at 1:30 p.m. at Carter-Finley Stadium. Airtime will begin at
1:00 p.m. Eric Curry, who has served as color analyst for Shaw
football the last three years, will be the color analyst for the
game.
Ware is no stranger
to theBuzz or the Aggie-Eagle Classic. In 2004, he wrote, voiced
and produced the CIAA Report for theBuzz as well as serving as
the color analyst for last year’s classic. On occasion he
has appeared as an analyst on the station. He served as sports
information director at North Carolina A&T from 1999-2001.
Ware started out in
radio as an analyst during Morgan State football and basketball
games in 1997. In 1998, Ware became the halftime host during the
football broadcasts, giving updates on scores from around the
country, giving analysis of the game, and putting together student-athlete
halftime features. After a two-year hiatus from radio, Ware began
doing play-by-play and color commentary for North Carolina A&T
basketball games. In 2001, he called the first and only baseball
game broadcasted in A&T history. Ware was the executive producer
and exclusive radio broadcaster during the 2004 Black College
All-Star game in Atlanta.
In 2004, Ware formed
the Shaw Bear Sports Radio Network, a network of 11 stations which
aired all of Shaw University’s football games. In 2005,
he formed DWCommunications, LLC and launched the nation’s
only Black college sports talks show FROM THE PRESS BOX TO PRESS
ROW.
