Germany and Banks to
Host Show
Fuquay-Varina, NC –
Lamont Germany and Terry Banks will be the new co-hosts of the
nation’s Black college sports talk show FROM THE PRESS BOX
TO PRESS ROW. Donal Ware, founder and CEO of DWCommunications,
LLC, the parent company of the show, has served as the shows host
for the first four shows.
“As I have stated
before I am very exited about the show itself and am even more
thrilled to have two such outstanding professionals hosting the
show,” said Ware. “Lamont taught me everything I know
about broadcasting from the time I was a student at Morgan State
University. Terry’s energy and enthusiasm for life and radio
is almost unmatched and the two of them have outstanding chemistry.
The show will be elevated to a new level with these to gentlemen
hosting.”
Germany, a native of
Pittsburgh, PA, is a 1986 graduate of Morgan State University.
Germany has been the “voice” of the Bears for 26 years
now, while also having served in the capacity of assistant sports
information director since 1997. In April of 2005, Germany resigned
his position as assistant sports information director to become
a host on the Major League Baseball channel on XM Satellite Radio.
For the last eight
years, Germany has hosted and produced the show Sports Rap. Germany’s
love of sports is exuded when he broadcasts a game or hosts a
show. In 1998 Germany was named Baltimore’s Sportscaster
of the Year by the Baltimore City Paper.
Now in his 14th year
as a radio professional, Banks has a voice and a style of speaking
that is like no other. Within six months of attending Columbia
College in Chicago, IL, his broadcast career began. It started
at WMAQ radio in 1991, where he was hired to work in the marketing
department. His responsibilities included going to various locations
promoting the Chicago Bulls and Chicago White Sox. He then moved
to the newsroom where he became a sportswriter. After a year of
sports writing, he became a full-time news and sports producer.
In 1996 he relocated to Baltimore, MD and joined WEAA radio as
their color analyst for live football and basketball games. He
also became a co-host on the popular WEAA sports talk show Sports
Rap.
“I am honored
and proud to have been picked by Mr. Donal Ware, to be one of
the new voices you will hear on the show,” said Banks a
native of Chicago. “From the time I entered into the broadcast
